Teaching is about so much more than the knowledge and tools gained throughout a degree. It is the choice to see every child as a world of infinite potential—to believe in them, guide them, and give them the strength to grow.
At the graduation ceremony for the graduates of Orot Israel College’s undergraduate programs, we celebrated not only the completion of an academic journey, but the beginning of a lifelong calling.
The ceremony was held in the presence of Mr. Yitzchak Amitai, Chairman of the Executive Committee, and Rabbi Chaim Fogel, CEO of the College. The evening was warmly and enthusiastically hosted by Rabbanit Dr. Ruti Shapira, Head of Undergraduate Studies.
The graduates were also honored by words of encouragement from Rabbi Eitan Eizman, Chairman of the Board of Trustees; Prof. Meir Hildesheimer, President of the College; and Ms. Sarit Cohen, Supervisor of Religious Zionist teacher-training institutions.
A representative of the graduating class shared her experiences from her years of study and reflected on the significance of the journey they had taken together. She spoke about the challenges of completing a degree while each student and her family faced the national and personal difficulties of these challenging wartime days—and about the strength, determination, and spirit that enabled them to persevere and continue preparing to educate the next generation of the Jewish people.
The words of blessing throughout the evening emphasized the tremendous responsibility placed on educators to shape the future generation of Am Yisrael through values, faith, and a deep love for every person.
This is a calling: to educate, to instill values, and to build the future generation.
We are proud of each and every one of our graduates and wish you success as you embark on this new journey—with faith, professionalism, and a commitment to education rooted in the Israeli spirit.
